A lot of us spend our time wishing that our lives had turned out differently.
Beating ourselves up for the mistakes we’ve made.
And hating ourselves for making the choices that have led us to this place.
Feeling sorry for yourself however, will not change your circumstances.
Ultimately you have two choices.
You can choose to stay bitter and resentful.
Allowing the shame of your situation to consume you.
Allowing your regret to keep you from moving forward.
Or you can choose to let go of the what if’s and focus on what is.
You can let go of your past mistakes, learn from them, and try to make better decisions in the future.
This may be where you’re at in your life, but it doesn’t mean you have to stay here forever.
At any given moment you have the power to say “this is not how the story is going to end”.
Maybe you can’t fully commit to change today, or tomorrow, or even a year from now.
But you can hold onto hope.
You can pick yourself up each time you fall.
You can continue trekking forward.
Let go of the destination, and start focusing on the journey.
It starts by taking small steps each and every day.
It starts by believing in yourself.
And it starts with you.
The latest Lana Del Rey track to leak is called National Anthem. Thankfully it’s not a cover of the actual Nation Anthem or Radiohead, but a poppy track with a solid beat. Listen after the jump:
truth.
